THE ALPHABETTI THEATRE

A newly remodelled community Theatre will provide the theatre company with a completely new performance space holding up to 300 people, spread over 4 floors. The two ‘buildings’ will be connected with a large glass atrium which will pierce out into the street. A glazed circulation core will connect all of the building’s newly remodelled public amenity areas to the state-of-the-art performance space.

A new entrance will be the main focus of the atrium with oversized doors inviting the public in with level access straight from the street. The Restaurant will provide one of the key pieces of revenue for the theatre. The charitable nature of the theatre company will continue as the restaurant will feed people from less wealthy postcodes for a reduced rate on certain days. This will also promote community engagement as people will be encouraged to sit together and converse before seeing the shows. An external amphitheatre-style seating arrangement will provide people with a space to congregate, be rented out for pop-up retailers, or have performances in the summer.
