Alphabetti theatre
A theatre space with the community close to its heart, Alphabetti’s ethos of inclusivity and sharing their love of theatre is shown throughout the proposed design. A space frame structure resembling a flowing form coming out of the existing building highlights the differences between the existing angular form and the activities within. This parasitic architecture shows creativity flowing from the somewhat oppressing existing structure. The parasite lives off the existing structure, shadow gaps highlight the repulsion they have between one another. However, a parasite cannot live without its subject, the functional spaces are placed at these meeting points such as the backstage, toilets, plant and workshop.
