Andy and Monica's dream Wedding at The Pink Shell, Fort Myers, Florida

Andy and Monica are an incredible couple!  The moment you meet them you can't imagine them not being together.  They were just made for each other.  They met in an Irish bar, quite by chance, started dating and since then they have been organizing and planning their lives together, until the end of time.  The story goes that Andy after work on New Year's Eve, a few years ago, finally got to an Irish bar around midnight for a pint of Guinness, he took the only seat at the bar and ordered his Guinness.  As he ordered he heard a girl's voice beside him say "I like Guinness".  He turned around and saw the most amazing girl of his life, and she liked Guinness, straight away without any thought he asked her to marry him.  Now some may think it was a joke, some may think this would not happen, but when you know Andy and Monica, you can only imagine that Andy was struck by the same feeling that everyone else has when they see them together, they were meant for each other.   That was in Michigan, where they grew up, but as time passed and Andy got a job in Ft Myers, they moved to Florida and fell in love with the beach.  So that formed the basis of heir dream wedding, combining the beach with their love of Guinness and memories of Sean O'Callaghan's Public House, where they first met.  The Pink Shell, was the perfect destination for their wedding, right on the beach and enough rooms for all their family and friends to stay while they would come to Florida for their perfect wedding.  They sat about planning,  together they chose Nautilus Photography for their wedding photography, Andy was in charge of music and found Michael Antoine to play the steel drums on the beach and during the coctail hour and chose the Dj Company of South Florida to get their party started. Monica organized most other things, she chose her dress, flowers, together they had decided on linen suits for the boys and Monica found those. She arranged for Erika from Infinity Salon to come to the Pink Shell and do hair and make up for her and her sister, Amy, her maid of Honor. For Andy the choice of best man was simple his brother Bobby, who else. They had left themselves plenty of time to make sure they could take care of every detail and of course as a chef Andy took great care in choosing the menu and cake, by Publix Bakery. Together they can conquer the world!

After months of planning the day was finally here, spending the day apart made them all the more ready to be married. Time could not pass quickly enough, as they dressed and sent each other a postcard with a little note of their love they looked out at their chairs and arch on the beach and wished the time was here. As we photographed them getting ready we knew they just wanted to be together. At last! Finally the time was here. The guests took their places and Dr DanLamey  accompanied Andy followed by parents and then Amy And Bobby. Just two more people to come, Andy strained his eyes back to the pink shell and then a look of relief, at last Monica and her Dad appeared. Monica and her dad came towards the ceremony site and Andy smiled, this is what he he had been dreaming of for months, Monica looked stunning and smiled at Andy a smile that said Finally we are together! They had chosen a beautiful ceremony with Dr Dan and included a wine box ceremony with a love letter from each of them being sealed in a box with a bottle of wine to be opened in their first anniversary. Dr Dan blessed the wine and sealed the box. Then after a short prayer he pronounced them man and wife and the words they had both longed to hear you may now kiss the bride! They walked down the aisle to the applause and cheers of their friends and family. Then time for photographs with family and finally alone. Just the two of them Mr and Mrs Brown, how good that sounded. The time alone being photographed on the beach and in the garden at the Pink Shell passed quickly and soon it was time to rejoin their guests for the reception. They were announced and went straight into their first dance to Book of Love by Peter Gabriel, confidently, elegant and perfectly they danced together, those lessons had really paid off. Monica danced with her dad and Andy with his mom. A short heartfelt speech and toast from Amy and some wise words and just a little insight to the past from Bobby and dinner was served. Dinner was leisurely with plenty of time to chat to each other and guests as the ate, stopping occasionally for a kiss in answer to the chinking of glasses by their guests. After dinner they visited each table for a photograph and to thank their guests for making the journey to join them on their wedding day. Then the Erlan and Gabe the Dj's picked up the tempo on the music, it was time to get the party started, Monica and Andy hit the dance floor and were quickly joined by friends and family. The partying continued until midnight, with just a short break fror Monica and Andy to cut the cake and serve each other, cleanly done. Last dance of the evening was an anniversary dance, with all the married couples joining the newest married couple, Monica and Andy on the dance floor, the as the least married couples left the floor, the longest married couple, Monica's mom and dad, 46 years married, and Monica and Andy, just a few hours, were left. Congratulations to both couples, this really is what marriage is all about. Thank you for having us as a part of your very special day, we are truly honored.

Katie and John bring Long Island to Ft Myers Beach for their fun filled wedding

Katie and John first met when they worked in the Post Office in Long Island, they instantly became friends and as time went on they knew they would spend they rest of their lives together.  John retired to Ft Myers, Florida and Katie got a transfer to be with him.  That is the history, but when it came to getting married they couldn't dream of doing it without all their family and friends from Long Island being a part of it.  So they sent out the invitations, not sure how many could make the trip, but obviously when the replies started coming in they realised their family and friends felt they wanted to be a part of their wedding!.  They have had a busy week meeting everyone from the airport as hey arrived and planning their wedding.  So at last the dy was here and everyone gathered at Diamond Head Resort on Ft Myers Beach for their fabulous beach wedding.  The sun was shining, no chance of rain, Katie's sister had offered to perform the ceremony with her ther sisters as bridesmaids and John's son's as his two best men, the wedding party was set.  The boys and guests gathered in the Tiki Bar while the girls got ready, the signal was gien the guests were seated and John walked, or should we say danced, down the aisle.  He was the happies man alive, anxiously he waited to see his bride.  Then there she was in a short white cotton dress with a crown of orchids, carrying a posey of mixed white flowers, she took his breath away for a moment he was speechless.  As she walked towards him, even though they were surrounded by family and friends they gazed at each other and it was as though they were the only ones on the beach.  Their famly and friends were all cheering, this was such a happy wedding.   Kate's siter performed a short, sweet and heartfelt ceremony including the sand cermony and when she pronounced them man and wife a cheer went up they kissed and everyone went Ahhh!  There was so much love at this wedding.  Time for pictures and partying! After some pictures on the beach, we joind the rest of Long Island on the sundeck for the cocktail hour where we photographed the happy couple with family and friends.  In no time at all it was time for dinner.  Patrick from Aaceentertainment had set up and was ready to introduce our couple.  They danced into the reception to the theme of the odd couple and everyone clapping and cheering, Straight into their first dance, where they were joined by evryone else there.  Such fun, the room was full of laughter and cheers.  Just a few serious moments for champagne toasts and everyone to show how happy they were for this great couple. A fabulous buffet dinner, an amazing cake, from Publix, dancing and partying into the night.  A super wedding, a super couple and great friends and family.  We are so glad they asked Nautilus Photography to be a part of this very special day, congratulations from Paul and Hazel, we are looking forward to seeing you all again soon!

Chanda and JJ celebrate their engagement on FT Myers Beach, Florida

When Chanda and JJ got engaged they decided they would wait until they visited Ft Myers Beach, Florida, until they would have their 'official' engagement photographs taken.  The weather was perfect and the sunset just right to celebrate with just a little splashing around in the water.  For those back home in Michigan, yes the water is warm and very inviting.  They were all prepared and had made their 'save the date' sign, we are definitely saving this date - hopefully they will ask us to come to Michigan for the wedding.  You will have to follow the blog for more pictures of this great couple!

Brides Often Regret Not Spending More on Wedding Photography

Brides Often Regret Not Spending More on Wedding Photography brideregrets

If you’re set to get married soon and are in the process of planning for the big day, here’s a tip that might save you from some sadness further down the road: don’t go cheap on the photography if you can help it. It turns out that spending too little on photography is one of the biggest regrets brides have after their wedding, while spending too much rarely causes remorse.

For a wedding issue that will soon be hitting newsstands, New York Magazine created an infographic titled “What They Would Have Done Differently.” The magazine asked one hundred recent brides about what they’d do differently if they could go back in time.

As you can see from the two polls above, photography is huge on most brides’ lists.

Brides Often Regret Not Spending More on Wedding Photography wedding

21% of those polled wished they had spent more money on their wedding photography. Only 12% wished they had spent less.

If you think the sample size is too small, or that the results don’t reflect reality, get this: Shutterfly found the exact same thing when it polled 500 recent brides back in 2011. They too found that 21% of brides wished they had spent more on photography.

All this just goes to show that while many of the things that happen at a wedding won’t be remembered in the long run, photos and videos that result can have a big impact on memories and happiness for many years to come.

Sheria and Brock's April Fool's Day Wedding, The Verandah Golf and Country Club, Ft Myers, Florida

No one was quite sure if Brock and Sheria were serious when they said they would get married while they were on their easter vacation in Ft Myers.  They were convinced it wasn't going to happen when Brock called his friend and said he was in cout this morning, but he didn't say he was getting the license.  So this is just for those whose doubted they would tie the knot.  We know no one doubted they were meant for each other or that they will love each other to the end of time, just if today would actually be the day!  Brock waited under the tree they had picked out as their wedding site with their son Connor and  the officiant.   Sheria arrived in a golf cart, in true Florida style,  with her daughter Lexi.  Sheria looked beautiful, wearing a white full length fitted lace gown with a short train.  After the short sweet ceremony they had chosen under a large oak tree with hanging spanish moss beside a lake they were pronounce man and wife!  Oh what Joy.  We stayed with them for a short time taking family photographs,  formal photographs and a few romantic photographs.  The time for us to leave and the celebrations to begin in earnest.  Congratulations from Paul and Hazel from Nautilus Photography.  See you soon!

Jessica and Dillan's Captiva Beach Easter Wedding, Captiva, Florida

Back in Elementary school Jessica had seen this cute guy and Dillan had seen this really pretty girl.  It wasn't until seventh grade that Dillan plucked up the courage to ask Jessica out.  She acted cool, but didn't want to admit she had been waiting a long time for this first date.  They have been dating now for eight years and while everyone knew they were destined to be together the only question was 'when'?'  Every year Dillon's parents spend a week on Captiva, Florida and for a few years Jessica has joined them.  They always rent the same house and love it!  So this year Dillan suggested he and Jessica would head down a few days early and have a couple of days on their own.  What everyone did not know was that he and Jessica were planning to be married right on the beach beside the house they normally rent.  This is one of our favorite places they said, so when it came to getting married we couldn't think of a better place.  Jessica had managed to pack her wedding gown and some casual beach attire for Dillan without him seeing her dress.  So as he waited for her to change he was excited to see her in her wedding gown, then when she tapped him on the shoulder for the first look he was completely blown away, she was beautiful!  It was like the first time he had seen her, his heart skipped a beat and he held her and kissed her.  Now he was ready to be married!  They walked together the few steps to the beach, where hey met the preacher and after a short ceremony he said those magic words YOU ARE NOW MAN AND WIFE!  The preacher left and hey were alone, apart from Paul and Hazel fro Nautilus Photography taking photographs for their friends and family back home and the few other people who were on the beach, they walked, talked, hugged and kissed, happier than they had ever been before, now they wanted to tell the world, Mr and Mrs Day.  Back to the house for a few more photographs and then we left this happy couple to call family and friends, tell them the good news and arrange a party for when they go back up to Ohio.  Congratulations Dillan and Jessica , thank you for having us as your wedding photographers on this very special day and we look forward to photographing you and your family next year when you come back to Captiva.  Don't forget to bring your dress and we'll have fun with a trash the dress session at the spot where you got married.

Jim and Linda elope to Ft Myres Beach, Florida

Jim and Linda's love story is one that needs no words, the pictures tell it all!  It is an old familiar tale one where boy meets girl they fall in love, marry and live happily every after.  Fate has played a hand from the begining for them, they met by accident, or was it fate?  Instantly realized they were soul mates who had been searching for each other all their lives, and now together they are complete.  Fate brought them together, made them choose Ft Myers Beach to get married.  When they started planning their destination wedding fate found Laura Walker to be their officient and Nautilus Photography to capture their very private ceremony.  They had decided to have no guests, but fate interveined again and just as they were saying their vows the pirate ship came round the corer and cheers from a ship full of unexpected guests were heard loud and clear.  Hazel and Paul from Nautilus Photography were their witnesses and at last in the eyes of the law they were man and wife.  Sealed with a kiss, or two and then time to pop the cork on a champagne bottle and strat a lifetime of celebration.  Congratulations Jim and Linda, we are looking forward to photographing you next year on your first anniversary.  Enjoy your honeymoon at The Pink Shell and St Pete's Beach.

Freddie and Melissa's dream wedding in La Belle, Florida

Freddie and Melissa Became Mr & Mrs Zamarron yesterday at the Civic Center in La Belle, Florida!  Life has been hectic since they got engaged as they planned and organized their fairytale wedding.  With lots of help from family and friends, things finally came together right on time, exactly as they wanted it to be.  Melissa got ready at her parents home with her parents, sisters and brother.  Freddie meanwhile got ready at his parents home with hid brothe and sister.   Melissa had her make up by Carolina, her hair curled and then slipped into her wedding gown to look like a princess.  Freddie in a black suit with a crisp white shirt and a striped tie looked like a prince.   Both families had co ordinated with their theme of black, white and hot pink.  Freddie and his parents went first to the Civic Center to make sure all was ready and greet the guests as they started to arrive.  Melissa and her family were in the Limo and on their way, this was one bride who was determined to be on time!  As the news came the limo with Melissa had arrived the videographer started the cameras rolling, the pfficiant took her place at the alter, the guests were seated and the bridal party lined up.  Freddie looked straight ahead and Melissa stayed in the Limo, they were careful not to see each other before she would walk up the aisle.  First the ring security, followed by the ring beared, flowergirl, bestman and matron of honor and then who veveryone was waiting on Freddie with his mom and dad on either side.  A moment later Freddie started to snile as he saw Melissa coming up the aisle with her mom and dad.  This was the most exciting moment, up to now he had been nervous, but as Melissa came closer, his confidence grew.  She smiled at him and he smiled at her and from that moment they were together.  After a short sevice, they had some readings from the bible with guidance and advice for their future together as a married couple.  Then they were introduced as Mr & Mrs Zamarron, that felt so good!  Proudly they walked down the aisle and around the room and as the walked everone appauded.  What a handsome couple, it was no wonder they all wanted to come up congratulate them and get a photograph with the bride and groom!  Then just as dinner was being served we had a chance to whisk them away to a secret location for a few quiet moments together while we photographed them. As they stood beside each other, man and wife for the first time the love between them was electric. Before we knew it the sun was setting and it was time to rejoin their guests.  Both sets of parents were waiting, Freddy's mom was looking forward to dancing with her son and Melissa's dad was looking forward to dancing with his daughter.  Then time for them to dance together. They were beautiful to watch.  Then everyone's attention turned to their cake!  They had opted for cupcakes and a small wedding cake to cut.  But this was magnificent, with the cupcakes set up in tiers and surrounded by a great array to desserts, it was difficult for the kids to wait until after the cake was cut before they could try all those delicious desserts.  While everyone visited the dessert station the band played and people started to dance, the party was really getting started.  Just to spice up the evening and help liven thigs up Melissa and Freddie did a snake dance and then a dollar dance, by this time people were ready to dance and party.  The fun was just getting started and there was plenty of time for people to enjoy themselves.  Congratulations Melissa and Freddie, truly a wedding to remember for the rest of you lives!

Beth and Joe's Destination Pink Shell Beach Wedding, Ft MYers, Fl

It has been such a cold winter in Indianna with so much snow this year that when Joe asked Beth to marry him she not only said yes, but suggested having an intimate ceremony on the Beach in Florida.  After all no matter how cold it gets in Florida in the winter you won't have to worry about snow!  So when they told their family they were eloping to Florida they weren't really surprised, but totally delighted, by how many suddenly found they were able to come with them. The Pink Shell on Ft Myers Beach was the perfect location and their good friend Peggy, a retired priest, was happy to offer her services as their officiant, Beth chose Libby's flowers and a cake from Publix.  After some research on the internet she chose Nautilus Photography to record their special day.  The day had come Beth chose a modern short white cocktail dress with black accents and a little black jacket to match and Joe opted for smart, but casual.  Beth's son and daughter walked her down the aisle and her daughter was her maid of honor.  Joe broke a little with tradition choosing his twin sister to be his best woman rather than a best man, but he said when all was said and done she was the best person.  They had chosen a couple of reading from the bible to personalize their ceremony and held each other close throughout.  It was so obvious to everyone there they belong together and getting married was their way of telling the world they want to be together forever!  As they turned to fave their family for the first time as Mr and Mrs Marin they both had the greatest smiles.  Time for family photographs before they could be alone and have a few romantic moments on the beach, but not done yet, they had organized a champagne reception and toast before tucking into a great family dinner to be followed by some cake.  What a great caked, Beth had explained over the phone what she wanted when she ordered it, but when it was delivered, with chocolate strawberries piled high on top of it and all around it it was way better than she had invisioned and everyont was really looking forward to it.  What a beautiful, casual intimate family wedding these towo had planned to celebrate their love for each other.  Congratulations from Nautilus Photography, enjoy your honeymoon and safe home!

Chris & Meghan's Casa Ybel beach wedding, Sanibel, Florida

Chris and Meghan love the beach and although they live in New Hampshire they wanted a beach wedding.  They checked out all the hotels and all the beaches and decided on Casa Ybel on Sanibel for their perfect destination wedding.  They set the date, Chris' grandfather's birthday, and by co incidence, ust two days after Valentine's day.  They wanted is to be fun, casual and just their oldest, closest friends.  Their parents had suggested a bigger church wedding, and they decided they will do that, but didn't want to give up their dream, so they will be married twice.  First on the beach in Florida then at home in church in June.  These guys are so in love they will be celebrating their marriage for many years to come!  Meghan wore a long shiffon wedding dress and ger sister was maid of honor in a navy blue gown.  Meghan had chosen earings and pendants for them both made from Scottish Sea Glass, in keeping their beach theme.  The flowers were Blue and White hydrangeas, Meghan carried blue and her sister carried white, the arch on the beach and their center pieces wewre also blue hydrangeas. With hair and make up done by Jamie Lynn Cintron the girls looked stunning and were ready.  Meanwhile Chris and Jimmy were anxiously waiting and watching the weather.  But right on time the wind droped and the sun came out!  With the guests seated,  Laura Walker, the officiant, Chris and his best man took their places  at the arch and in just a few minutes, Meghan and her sister walked up the aisle.  Chris was the happpiest man in the world, he couldn't stop smiling as Meghan came towards him and took his hand.  They stared into each others eyes, 'repeated after me', poured their sands together and then the time came.   The words they had been onging to hear ' you are now man and wife'  they kissed and turned with the greatest smiles to face their friends and family.  What a great moment! They skipped down the aisle followed by their guests and after some hugging and congratulations it was time for photographs.  Lots of group photos with family and friends and then time for everyone, except the bride and groom to go to the cocktail hour.  With the sun setting and the temperature dropping they walked, talked, hugged and kissed alone at last for the first time as man and wife.  As they called each other Mr & Mrs they giggled, so glad they had made the trip and got married on the beach.  They will return here many times, but it will never be more special than on this their wedding day! With the sun setting it was time to rejoin their guests for champagne toasts, and just a couple of well written and heart felt speeches.  During a fabulous meal the chatted with their guests and stopped every now and then just to lok at each other and enjo this first meal as husband and wife.  Time to cut the cake!  Would it be messy or clean, that was the question.  Meghan said no, and Chris just smiled, but kept it clean.  What a wonderful beach wedding.  Congratulations from Paul and Hazel  at Nautilus Photoraphy, we look forward to seeing you soon and photographing you again for years to come!

Jay & Christie Tie the knot at Babcock Ranch, Punta Gorda, Fl

When I first talked to Christie and she told me that she and Jay would be getting married in a cow pasture on Babcock Ranch I was intrigued.  This was the first time I heard of anyone getting married at Babcock Ranch.  She explained her dad, a fifth generation Florida Carcker, making her a sixthe generation Florida Cracker, was the aligator manager att the farm and had been for 25 years.  So she grew up around the ranch with him and thought it would be the perfect place for her and Jay to tie the knot.  So her dad asked, begged, and they said yes! Of course being in the dry season there were one or two rules, but it was on!  They hired a tent, chairs and tables.  Their arbor was made from Cypress cut right there on the ranch, coasters, platters and various items were made from Cypress that had been cut on the ranch.  What shall we do for favors?  of course honey from the ranch's behives, this really was a Babcock Ranch wedding.  As their plans came together, more and more people from the ranch got involved, The Cowboy manager's wife volunteered he home for the girls to get ready and things were coming together, this was a union that was meant to be.  When Christie had bougth a truck from her mom and dad little did she know that the bad transmission would turn out to be such a good thing!  Her mom called her mechanic, Jay, who came over to work on the truck, but as the day wore on he worked a little magic on more than the truck and before long they were walking out together.  The rest as they say was history.  So today, in front of their Friends and family they were married.  Christie looked fabulous in her white gown trimmed with Brown, Tracy was her best friend wore a gown in the matching brown and the flower girl had some leaves to match inside the hem of her dress.  Jeri-Lynn Arocho, from Mary Kay had taken care of the girls make up to help them look thier best in the hot sun.  Jay wore a crisp white shirt and blue jeans, casual, but oh so handsome.  Their pastor, Tracy Hanson,  from New Hope Christian Church in North Ft Myers performed a short sweet and very personal service, Then it was time to eat and take photographs.  Of course when they were looking for a caterer for their floria, country wedding it had to be Southern Accents Catering, great barbeque, definitely right for their theme.  While guests were eating we photoraphed the bride and groom. family and friends, in the sunshine with lots of love and laughs, this was a wonderful day.  Time to cut the cake, and what a cake!  Nothing but the best, a three tier, theree layer carrot cake from Publix, perfect end to a great meal.  No time to lose fro his couple off to Mount Dora ffor a well deserved honymoom.  Have a great time and CONGRATULATIONS from Paul and Hazel at Nautilus Photography, thank you for having us a part of this very special day.  See you when you get back Mr & Mrs Wooton!

Alexis and Avery's Marco Island Marriott Resort Wedding, Florida

Alexis and Avery had the perfect day for their wedding at The Marriott Beach Resort on Marco Island, Florida, yesterday.  The sun was shinning, not too warm and just a light breeze.  Of course some people may have thought that any man would rather be watching the Super Bowl on the first Sunday in February.  Avery was so excited to be marrying Alexis he didn't care what was happening elsewhere, he was right where he wanted to be!  With Avery on deployment Alexis had worked very hard to plan a wedding that would be a day to remember for the rest of their lives.  After speaking with Mark, the event manager at The Marriott Beach Resort in Marco Island she knew that was going to be their dream location and coming from New Jersey in February, the weather would be wonderful!  Mark suggested they use the resident officiant Kathy, the kitchens would bake the cake, they provided a local florist and suggested Mobile Sound Entertainment, DJ, from Marco Island.  Just the photographer to find.  Alexis wanted to be sure she had the right photographer so she checked websites, online reviews and then called and chatted to photographers to make sure she was going to get the best pictures for their very special day, she chose Nautilus Photography.  All the while she was making the plans Avery was overseas and as she told him how whe was getting along he was counting the days until he woud be back home and they would be in Marco Island standing by her side with their family and friends around them.  At last the day was here!  Alexis looked absolutely stunning in a traditional white gown with just enough spakle and some very sparkly shoes to complete the look.  Tammy, Alexis' sister was maid of honor, funny enough a Ravens fan, was wearing purple, quite by co-incidence.  Gabby, Alexis daughter and alexis cousin were bridesmaids in navy blue.  The boys, Avery's brother was best man and his longtime friends wore grey tuxes with vests to match the girls.  Avery - the main man wore a black tux and looked so handsome.  The ceremony was on the Palm lawn facing the setting sun, guests took their seats and everything started on time.  A short sweet ceremony followed by a sand ceemony incorporating Alexis daughter and their son AJ then the words they had been longing to hear "You may now kiss the bride"!  At last Mr & Mrs Colon!! Everyone clapped as they walked triumphantly down the isle.  A glass of champagne  and then time for family and group photographs.  Then as the sun was setting we went ot the beach for some very romantic pictures by the waters edge.  Time for the happy couple to get a few minutes alone before rejoining their guests.  Meanwhile their guest had been planning a grand welcome for them and had lined up with sparklers to form an archway for them to come back fot the reception.  Up at Caxtons in the hotel the DJ was getting set up to get the party started and their meal was almost ready, so afetr sparklers it was up to Catons, with just a sneak look at how thet other event, the Super Bowl was getting along and then ino dinner and dancing for the rest of the evening.  What a great day, e are so glad we were a part of it.  Have a great honey moon in the Bahamas and we'll have some great photographs to help you relive your wedding day when you return.  Congratulations from Hazel & Paul!

Sara and Eric's Wedding celebration at The Pink Shell, Fort Myers Beach, Florida

Sara and Eric were married in their chaplain's kitchen in Georgia on New Year's Eve three years ago.  But at that time they vowed they would have the sunset beach wedding Sara had always dreamed of when the time was right.  A lot has happened since then, they now have a beautiful daughter, almost 2 years old, they were apart for over a ear while Eric was serving in Afghanistan, but their love for each other has only strengthened.  While Eric was away Sara thought it would be great to reaffirm their love for each other and have the dream wedding they had always wanted when he would come home.  With the help of her mother Sara planned their wedding at The Pink Shell on Ft Myers Beach.  Sara chose an absolutely fabulous wedding dress and pale blue for her brides maid's dress.  For the boys she chose sand colored linen pants and a white linen shirt for Eric and pale blue and white casual linen shirts for the groomsmen, both her brothers and her dad.   She chose white roses, pale blue hydrangeas and white anemones for her flowers, every detail was perfect.  Who would they have perform their ceremony, easy a family friend was honored to be a part of he day.  The weather was perfect, sun shining, warm but not too hot, just enough cloud for a great sunset and friends and family all present.  Eric not in the least nervous, but looking forward to telling Sara how much he loves her and showing the world their love is strong and forever took his place at the alter and waited for his bride.  He strained his eyes and smiled as Kerry, Sara's bridesmaid and Elli, their daughter came across the sand, everyone stood as it was time for Sara and her parents to join them.  His heart leapt as he saw her for the first time in her wedding dress, she was beautiful.  It was as though she floated across the sand and finally took her place at the alter beside him.  Sara's dad joined Sara and Eric's hands.  They gazed into each other's eyes and repeated the word's of the ceremony, then the sand ceremony followed by a waters edge blessing with shells thrown into the water carrying god wishes from all present.  Now officially Mr & Mrs Andreis!!!  At last they had their wedding.  No time to waste, family, friends and wedding party photographs, then alone.  Eric could at last tell Sara how beautiful she was in her wedding dress, finally hold and kiss her.  We had no problem asking these two to pose or romantic photographs as the sunset or asking them to smile, all they had to do was look at each other and they smiled, laughed and it was obvious that these two are most definitely ONE!  With the sun down it was time to join family and friends for a great meal and a great reception.   The DJ introduced Mom and dad, followed by the bridal party and then Sara and Eric.  They went straight into their first dance together and then Eric watched as Sara danced with her dad.  Speeches were heart felt and humorous, filled with love and admiration for Eric and Sarah and toasts for a brilliant future together.  They cut the cake, not a clean cut, but lots of fun and laughter followed by lots of music and dancing for all!  Not just the end of a year, he beginning of a new chapter in their lives together.  Congratulations Sara and Eric, thank you for having Paul and Hazel from Nautilus Photography for your wedding photography, we look forward to seeing you both and little Elli again soon.

Laura & Nelson's Wonderful Wedding

Yesterday we had the great pleasure of photographing a friend's wedding.  We first met Laura at a wedding, she was the officiant and we were the photographers.  Since then we have had he pleasure of working together on many occasions and many of our regular blog readers may recognize her from previous posts.  Occasionally we will see Nelson in the background and have enjoyed getting too know them as a couple.  We were thrilled when Laura asked if we would be available to photograph her and Nelson's wedding.  We wouldn't miss it for the world.  They are a fantastic couple and fit together like to halves of the same rare coin, each incomplete on their own, but together - precious!  They had chosen the beach at Casa Ybel for their wedding and Patricia Slater as their officiant.  With their children, Laura's mom and few select friends gathered things couldn't have been better.  Nelson was outside getting more nervous by the minute, excited that Laura and he were about to become man and wife!  We met Laura upstairs,  where she was busying putting the finishing touches to the reception room.  Pat arrived and went over the ceremony with Laura and then signaled it was time for the guests to go down to the beach for the ceremony.  Suddenly Laura got nervous, up to this point she had kept herself busy, but now it was time for the ceremony.  Laura's daughter, Kaitlyn was her maid of honor and Nelsons two sons were his two best men.  Nelson supported by his sons took their place on the beach and then with just a few moments delay Kaitlyn walked down the aisle.  Laura waited until her daughter had taken her place and Nelson strained to see Laura.  Right on time Laura walked up the aisle.  Nelson couldn't wait any longer, he met her half way down the aisle and kissed her. Together they walked back up to where Patricia was waiting.   Patricia had prepared a beautiful ceremony and at 4.39pm she pronounced them man and wife!  Mr & Mrs Montero!  They walked down the aisle where their family and friends joined them.  After congratulations and hugs it was time for photographs with family and friends then time for our very happy couple to have a few minutes alone as everyone went of to the cocktail hour.  As the sun went down we photographed their first few minutes together as husband and wife. Just before the sun went down they headed back into Casa Ybel to join their guests for a toast at sunset, and enjoy their first meal together.  Still a few things to do, speeches and cut the cake!  Everyone in the room was really looking forward to the red velvet cake by Michelson's Bakery.  What a great wedding!  Paul and I were thrilled to be a part of our friend's wedding and we wish you both many years of happiness together.  Cheers from Nautilus Photography!

Jeremy and Heathers 12 12 12 Zion Lutheran Wedding, Ft Myers, Florida

Take my hand... and say you will follow me.

Jeremy appeared to be staring when he saw her. His first instinct was to charge down the aisle, pick her up, and spin her around, then kiss her passionately and deeply.

They both prayed to their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for their soul mate, and a month after Heather’s prayer, God showed her that He answer’s prayer, and Jeremy prayed a month before Heather prayed. It’s amazing how God has perfect timing. December 12, 2012 was perfect timing. How many times do two souls get married to each-other? Jeremy and Heather experienced the power of prayer. Heather attends Zion Lutheran Church and goes to Pastor Miller’s Bible Study Group that she likes to call her ‘Prayer Group.’

Two ring bears wear ring security shirts. One holding a heart pillow with two doves. One holding a sign that reads ‘Here Comes the Bride.’ The sound of the organist playing Trumpet Voluntary could be heard. The Bride’s veil was lifted and she received a kiss from her father and she gave him one last kiss on the cheek, and he gave her left hand to the groom. The groom held on to her hand and the bride took a hold of his right hand.

They were ready to set sail and exchange vows. Pastor Peter read scripture from the book of Genesis and Ephesians, a beginning of love description.  He gave a message about letting God be the anchor in Husband and Wife’s relationship. He included that God is first in their relationship. He reminded them that any storms that may arise, let God be the anchor.  Love and forgiveness are seasons that strengthen a relationship. Let go and let God be their refuge.

Husband and Wife will spend the rest of their days together worshiping and praising the One who created them to be together and to eternity. Jeremy and Heather both taught each-other never-ending love. “...ring... is a circle... represents God’s eternal love for us and the eternal love between Jeremy and Heather... there is no beginning... there is no end... the ring is made of a precious metal... one sought afer by people... a reminder of a covenant made on 12.12.12 ...whoever sees these rings will know that Husband and Wife belong to each-other... the ring is divided in three diamonds that make a heart... representing Husband, Wife, and God... Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

There are two owls for their cake, as you may see pictured. Heather loves Barred Owls that can be found where her other love is Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary,  and Jeremy is a Star Trek and Sci-Fi fan. She combined there likes. The Husband owl had a cute little black top hat Heather’s talented and artistic mother found, who created all the decorations. Heather put their first engagement symbol on the hat. A Star Trek Captain Insignia Pin that was given to Heather from Jeremy who said, ‘He would never let her go.’ Jeremy would always be there for her.  An expression of love and pin to cherish.

It didn't take long for Heather to know Jeremy was the one! She had been through some waves and storms and Jeremy was always beside her side. They both were there for each-other through rain and sunshine.

The Captain bell was rang loudly. Husband and Wife departed and lavender was thrown and off they went to a new adventure...

Heather says to Jeremy, “I will owl-ways love you!” Jeremy says to Heather, “I will always love you to infinity and beyond.” They both say to each-other, “I will always love you to infinity and beyond God’s beautiful mysterious creations of the above stars!
Ephesians 5:22-31
“Why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.”

Christmas wedding, rings on poinsettia

Freddy and Melissa's Engagement shoot at Nautilus hotography

With only a couple of month's until Melissa and Freddy are married they are busy getting things organized and putting plans into action.  Melissa likes a retro feel for her wedding with a classic style that will never go out of fashion.  Yesterday we had planned to photograph them on Ft Myers Beach as the sun was setting, but mother nature had other ideas.  Just as we were getting ready to go to the beach the rain came on. Melissa was disappointed, she had had her hair done, her make up done and her nails just perfect.  Freddy had had his hair cut and they were both all dressed up and ready for their big session.  So we switched venues and they came to our studio, where we set about creating some pictures with an 'old movie' feel to them.  We had a blast!  Freddy and Melissa first met when they were 15years old working after school in U-Save grocery store.  Instantly they were drawn to each other, Freddy, tall dark and handsome and Melissa pretty, bubbly with a lust for life and an infectious laugh.  From that day their love grew and grew.  Now they are inseparable.  They are so excited about getting married.  We will get to the beach for the sunset, but it may have to wait until after the holidays, and we will post some of those, watch this space for more pictures of this loving couple.  In the meantime give them some encouragement and let them know which are your favorite pictures.

Bobby & Kristin's Colonial Country Club wedding, Ft Myers, Florida

Bobby and Kristen met back in 2010 and immediately they met Bobby knew Kristen was the one.  He set about wooing her and swept her off her feet.  Little did he know she was smitten the first time she had laid eyes on her.  It's an old fashioned tale of boy meets girl and chases her until she catches him!  Bobby had planned everything, they got engaged on the top of the Eiffle Tower (Las Vegas) and together planned the fairytale wedding Kristen had always dreamed of.  The weather was perfect.  We met Bobby, the groomsmen and Kristin's dad at the hotel where they were getting ready, Kristen, bridesmaids and mom were all at Cre8 Salon in Cape Coral getting hair and make up done.  Bobby was ready, not just dressed, but READY!  We took some pictures and then bundled him into the bathroom so he wouldn't see Kristin out of the window as she arrived with her entourage.  Then no time to waste Clean Ride's Armoured Limo was there and it was time for the boys to go to Colonial Country Club, where guests were already starting to arrive.  In the 'girl's' room there was a flurry of activity as everyone dressed quickly so they were ready to help Kristin into her wedding gown from Alfred Angelo's.  Kristin was already nervous and excited, but when she put on her dress, jewellry, Gator garter and sparkly shoes she knew she was READY too!  Just her veil and time for a quick check - something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue and for luck a penny in her shoe!  A kiss from mom, a picture with her sisters and time to go!   The stretch white limo was at the door and over at Colonial Country Club the guests were getting seated and Robert from Black Tie Entertainment was setting up the sound mike's for the ceremony and doing final adjustments to the uplighters and set up in the dining room for the reception.  As Krintin and the girl's arrived in the limo Bobby and Ron, the minister stepped out onto the back porch, where the ceremony would be.  The flower's were waiting for the girls, the red roses in the bouquets amtched the bridesmaids dresses perfectly.  Kristin was secreted in Mike's office and the bridesmaids took their places with the grooms men. IT WAS TIME!  The mom's were seated and Bobby watched as the bridesmaids and grooms men came out and took their places either side of him, but he was waiting for Kirstin and her dad.  Ron gave eneryone the signal to stand and then out Kristin came.  Looking absolutely beautiful.  Bobby smiled a smile that sayd to everyone this is what I have been waiting for since we met.  The ceremony was short, but sweet and emotional for all.  Then triumphantly they walked arm in arm as Mr & Mrs Totten down the aisle followed by the bridal party.  The guests all went into cocktail hour while we photographed family and bridal party.  The time for Kristin and Bobby to be alone for the first time as man and wife.  Achance to talk and kiss and enjoy the sun going down as Nautilus Photography photographed thier first few minutes as man and witfe.  As the sun set it was time to join their guests for dinner, first dances, bouquet toss, garter toss and of course cake cutting.  All the formalities over the party started in earnest!  What a great end to a great day.  Congratulations Mr & Mrs Totten have a wonderful honeymoon and we look forward to seeing you when you return!

Sarah and Mark's secret private beach wedding on Captiva Island, Florida

Sarah and Mark have been together 'forever', fourteen years, but whose counting?  Family and friends have given up asking when will they be married.  Little did they know that Mark had asked Sarah to be his wife and they were making plans to get married while they would be on holiday in Florida.  Trying to organize things from the UK was proving harder than they thought, so they decided they would organize once they were here.  They got the licence and a few names of people who could make it happen.  So on a yacht in the middle of the ocean Sarah started calling first she found an officiant, Bob Pitt, who had access to a private beach  on Captiva Island, then she found Nautilus Photography to record the event for those sceptics at home who thought this would never happen.  Then they found a berth for their rented yacht at Tweenwaters Marina.  Everything arranged!  They were both so excited!  No fancy wedding dress for this bride, she didn't need it.  Sarah looked absolutely radiant in her white linen shirt and navy jeans, Mark looked ever so handsome in a matching white shite and jeans.  The beach was perfect, just a few pelicans for witnesses.  Bob performed a short ceremony and they lit candles so seal their love.  Then time for it to sink in Mr and Mrs Waterson after all this time.  Not only have they been together for ever, but now they will be together FOREVER.  Sarah and Mark cracked open a bottle of bubbly to celebrate Paul and Hazel witnessed the license and then it was done.   A few photographs while the sunset and then off to the Green Light Restaurant for their first meal together and to start the rest of thier lives as man and wife.  Time for home and to tell the world what they have been waiting to hear for so long  Sarah and Mark are MARRIED!  Congratulations from Paul and Hazel at Nautilus Photography, we look forward to seeing you again soon here in Florida and hopefully back in England.

Brad and Erin's Dream Veteran's Day Wedding

11am on the 11th day of the 11th month, the perfect time and date for a marine to marry his sweetheart.  Erin bought a new car four years ago and when the girls in work saw it they said 'cute car', Erin said the car was only half as cute as the guy who sold it to her.  So over the next few weeks she thought a lot about Brad and decided to go back to where she had got the car and get an 'oil change' in the hopes that she could bump into him.  He did see her, but was a little shy.  So to cut a long story short over the next few months Erin had a few 'oil changes' and went with her friends to buy their new cars until Brad plucked up the courage to ask her out.  The rest as they say is history, or at least it is their story.  Four years later they are standing on a hot sunny beach with Laura from Ocean Wave Weddings and Nautilus Photography getting married.  Erin looked fabulous in her traditional white wedding gown and Brad looked ever so handsome in a yellow shirt and navy shorts.  They had chosen a short service at Bowditch point then back to Sanibel Harbor Marriott Resort for pictures by the pool and by the marina.  As a former marine Brad loves the sea and all boats and ships, so when the opportunity to hop aboard a boat and have their pictures taken presented itself Brad and Erin happily hopped aboard.  No problem getting these two to smile.  We left them enjoying their honeymoon paradise and wish them all the best for their future together.  Congratulations Mr & Mrs Hutchison, thnak you for having Nautilus Photography photograph your wedding.

Erin & Jason's Perfect Pink Shell Wedding, Ft Myers Beach, Fl

Erin and Jason met five years ago in Chicago through work, but love blossomed and Erin soon agreed to move to Minnesota to be with Jason.  They had a wonderful romance until Jason gave Erin a Cycle helmet for Valentine's Day.  Erin said she wiuld have to think about where their relationship was going, but Jason already knew where he wanted it to go.  He already had bought the engagement ring and wasted no time proposing.  Erin was happy to say yes.  They came to Florida where they decided the Pink Shell on Ft Myers Beach was the perfect venue for their wedding.  Of course when they set the date as November 10th, all their friends and family, were happy to come to Florida and celebrate with them on the beach in the sunshine.  When we arrived the 'Girl's room was a flurry of activity, the dress was hanging in the window and the girls from J & A make up artistry were making sure eveyone looked their best.  The boys were trying to look relaxed, but they were anxious to know how the girls were.  Jason was nervous, but excited, and were ready to head out to the ceremony site.  Jason and the grooms men wore sand colored suits with flip flops - perfect for their beach ceremony.   Family and friends took their seats on the beach and were soon followed by Rev Jim Berger, Jason, the groomsmen, the Matrons of Honor, both her sisters, and the rest of the bridesmaids all wearing purple, mini bride and flower girl with the ringbearer.  We could hear people clapping as Erin made her way from the hotel, Rev Berger asked the guests to stand so Jason could not see his bride until she wouls be coming up the aisle.  Erin wore a figure hugging lace gown studded with diamonds.   She looked radiant escorted up the aisle by her father, carrying a colorful boquet by Libbey's Flowers, Jason's eyes filled with tears of happiness.  He quickly took his place beside her and held on to her tighly as Rev Berger performed the ceremony.  With a reading by Jason's neice and the sand ceremony it seemed like no time until these two were Mr & Mrs Stoltzmann!  The sun was setting so no time to waste.  Pictures with Grandmas, parents, siblings, bridal party and then just Erin and Jason.  Ther enjoyed their first few minutes as man and wife as the sun set and we photographed them on the beach.  Then as the sun disappeared Jaso had a surprise for Erin _ Chinese Lanterns.  He had made sure there were enough for the whole bridal party as wel as the two of them.  As they lit the lantern bases and waited for them to fill with hot air before the lanterns lifted into the air and drifted towards Sanibel, they laughed and relaxed with their friends.  What a wonderful sight as the lanterns floated off into the clouds and then time to join the guests for dinner in the Captiva Ballroom.  The Ballromm was beautiful, Jim Dalia from a DJ with Class had decorated with Blue and pink uplighters and Libbey's Flowers had placed floral centerpieces on all the tables.  The guests who had watched the lanterns from the windows and then seated waiting for the happy couple to join them.  After introductions Erin and Jason went straight into their first dance followed by Erin dancing with her dad, Paul, and Jason dancing with his mom, Marsha.  They took their seats at the sweetheart table and as the staff served dinner they chatted with each other and their guests.  Salads over there were speeches by the best man, Brett, and the two Matrons of Honor.  after dinner there was just one more thing to do befoer the party could really get started.  Cut the Cake!  They took their places and carefully cut a slice of cake and as tradition has it they fed each other, with just a little 'smash'.  Now time for more dancing and some serious partying with their friends and family.  What a great Day and a Perfect wedding!  Congratulations Erin and Jason, Mr & Mrs Stoltzmann, thankyou for having Paul and Hazel from Nautilus Photography photograph your very special day.  We are looking forward to seeing you soon!

Andrea and Shane's fairy tale wedding at The Colony, Bonita Springs, Florida.

Andrea had always dreamed of a fairy tale wedding and when she met Shane she was sure he was her handsome prince.  Funny thing was that from day one he saw her as his beautiful princess.  So after a suitable courtship he asked for her hand in marriage and she said yes!  Together they planned their fairy tale wedding at The Colony, Bonita Springs, Florida and invited all their family and friends to celebrate with them.  Finally the day was here.  Andrea and the girls got ready in the Ladies locker room and just next door Shane and the boys got ready in the mens locker room.  Just a wall separated the two of them each dying to see the other and each longing to be one, but excited at the thought of seeing each other as bride and groom for the first time.  As Andrea did her make up and got her hair done she wondered how Shane was managing next door and as Shane was getting ready he wondered how she was doing next door.  Shane and the boys looked so handsome in the grey suits they had rented from Black Tie Tuxedos and Andrea looked stunning in her Casablanca Bridal gown from Loretta's Bridal and the bridsmaids looked so pretty in purple gowns.  Outside their guests were gathering and Ryan O'Donnell their DJ was playing music while they took their seats.  First The officiant followed by the brides maids and grooms men, the flower girl and the ring bearer.  The after a brief pause Andrea on her dad's arm,  Shane's face lit up as he saw her coming toward him.  The ceremony was short, but sweet and heartfelt.  Afterwards the family and bridal party joined them out at the front door for photographs while the guests enjoyed the cocktail hour.  After all the group portraits were taken it was finally time for them o be on their own!  Happily ever after had already started and they were certainly happy.   They walked, talked and kissed for short while before it was time to rejoin heir guests for a delicious dinner and a couple of short speeches.  Then just as dinner was finishing they cut their beautiful raspberry and cream filled wedding cake.  While they were cutting the cake Ryan had moved the music out onto the patio, where the lights were lit and the log fir was burning.  They danced together as one, man and wife  for the rest of time.  Then Andre with her dad and Shane with his mom.  Time to get the party started.  What a great way to end his great day.  Congratulations Mr & Mrs White, thank you for having Nautilus Photography photograph your very special wedding day, we are looking forward to showing you the pictures and reliving your fairy tale wedding with you.

Craig and Heather's Sunrise wedding on Sanibel Island, Florida

As regular vacationers on Sanibel and Captiva, Heather and Craig knew the perfect place for their wedding would be on the beach and since they wanted to get married at sunrise they decided on Light House Beach, Sanibel.  They had originally booked to fly from their home in Maryland, but when Hurricane Sandy was on its way they decided to leave before it arrived and drive down.  On the way they went through blizzards in West Virginia, rain and strong winds, but they were determined they would be married today on Sanibel!   So early this morning, just before sunrise we met Craig on the beach and waited for Heather.  Just as a little light came into the sky we got the signal she was here.  Craig looked stoically out to sea while Heather crept up on him, he was so excited to see her, then when she tapped him on the shoulder and he looked around he was stunned by how beautiful she looked.  They first met at high school and have been friends ever since, first snow boarding together, then surfing and cycling.  They have so much in common and as their friendship grew, so did their love.  They wanted their wedding to be private and so they booked Patricia Slater as the officiant, Nautilus Photography for their photography and a rranged for a reception back home for when they return.  Craig wore a casual beach outfit and Heather looked absolutely gorgeous in a bally length white layered wedding gown with a short satin edged veil and a bouquet of yellow roses and shells.  We photographed them as the sun came up, but they had areed not to kiss untill they were man and wife, so before they both burst Patricia performed their marriage ceremony and at last they could kiss.........  It was a long passionate kiss, finally Mr and Mrs Stang!  Just at that a pod of dolphins a few yards off shore as if on cue jumped into the air celebrating this moment with Heather and Craig.  It was perfect.  We spent a little more time photographing them and enjoying their first few moments as man and wife, but we knew they needed to be alone, so we left them on the beach gathering shells as a momento of this very special day.  Congratulations MR & Mrs Stang, have a long nad happy marriage and thank you for choosing Paul and Hazel form Nautilus as your photographers.

Tim and Jamie's Country style fall wedding, Ft Myers, Florida

We've known Tim for some time and met Jaime a couple of years ago.  The more we got to know them as a couple the more we grew to love them.  We were so excited when they got engaged and couldn't wait to photograph their wedding.  Yesterday was their big day!  WE started early in the morning by visiting with 'the boys' at Tim's dad's house where they were busy getting ready.  Then on to see Jamie and 'the girls', when we arrived they were still at Profiles Salon getting hair and make up done, but that gave us some time to photograph her mom, dad and grandmother and some of the small details she and Tim had put together.  Then 'the girls' arrived.  Worried about running late the house was instantly a flurry of getting ready activity, lacing up dresses, slipping into sparkling shoes and packing all the essentials for the day into the party bus.  Jamie's mom, Pat, helped her dress and when she stepped out of the bathroom everything stopped.  She looked fabulous, totally amazing and everyone just gasped.  Her dad took her hand and said I will not cry untill after the father daughter dance, but the tears were welling up.  No time to waste girls to the party bus, Mom, Dad and Jaime to the limo and off to St Andrews Church on Del Prado where Tim and 'the boys ' were waiting.  Neither Tim nor Jaime were nervous, both excited, but so sure in their love for each other they new this would be the best day of their lives.  Father Hugh performed the service, jaime had known him from Bishop Verot, where she had gone to school.  The church was full with family and friends, everyone wanted to be a part of this great wedding.  Tim as always smiled as he stood at the alter and watched the moms take their seats and then the bridal party coming up the aisle, but when the doors opened and he saw Jaime in her wedding gown for the first time he looked happier than anyone had ever seen him look before.  On her dad's arm she came up the aisle and Tim was quick to take her from her dad and hold her hand eager to be married.   Father Hugh performed a fun and friendly service, as a priest and as a friend.  After the service Tim and Jaime greeted their family and friends outside before returning to the alter with family for photographs.  As we photographed them the church was gradually filling with people for  the afternoon mass.  All of them enjoying watching this happy couple's first few minutes together with their family and blessed them as we left to go to the reception at The Harborside.  The guests by this time were enjoying a great cocktail hour so we slipped away for some fun pictures with the briday party before going inside to get refreshed.  Time to get the party started and what a party.  Neil from Black tie Entertainment had chosen some great music and brought some fun props to make sure this party would keep going all evening long.  Harmon's had carefully arranged the lighting to suit the mood and enhance Tim and Jaime's country fall theme and had organized a slideshow of our happy couple to play on a big screen throughout the evening.  The guests were signaled to take their places as the bride and groom were about to be introduced.  First Mom's and Dad's then bridal party then Mr & Mrs Velasco!  The whole bridal party joined with Tim and Jaime in a short dance to entertain the guests before Tim and Jaime took the floor for their first dance.  For a few minutes they were on their own on the dance floor, time to talk to each other, hold each other and kiss.  It was all too soon the dance was over and while the staff served dinner they visited each table in turn and greeted their family and friends.  After dinner there were parent dances, couple dancing, congo line, YMCA with hats, Bouquet toss, garter removal and toss, more dancing and then Tim, with a little help from a friend sang a song to his beautiful bride.  The party continued into the night, with fun, laughter and most of all LOVE.  Congratulations Tim and Jaime, we are so looking forward to seeing you when you get back from honeymoon, we really enjoyed being a part of your special day and hope to be a part of your marriage for years to come.  Please add you congratulations to Tim and Jaime in the comment section below the photographs.

Greg and Joanne's Traditional Scottish Wedding on the beach at The Pink Shell, Ft Myers Beach, Fl

Joanne and Greg were far from home when love found them.  They both live in England, but met and fell in love in Ft Myers, Florida.  Greg a handsome bagpiper swept Joanne a tall and beautiful professional off her feet.  So when it came to choosing a location for their wedding, Ft Myers was an obvious choice.  Greg had played the bagpipes at a few weddings at the Pink Shell and knew what a great location it is for your wedding.  All their family in Scotland, England and Florida were excited to join them in the sunshine to celebrate their marriage, even more because they had decide to have a traditional Scottish wedding.   As a world class competition bagpipe player Greg knew just the guy to play at his wedding and of course Greg and his dad and Greg and Joanne's son Callum would wear their family tartan kilts in true Scottish formal tradition.  With everything organized they asked Libby's Flower Shop to arrange the flowers on the arch, their tables and most importantly Joanne's bouquet and Nautilus Photography to capture the love, fun and tradition of their day.  The time had come, the guests had arrived.  Dr Dan Lamey, the officiant, signaled it was time for the ceremony to begin.  The guests took their seats, Dr Dan walked to his place at the arch accompanied by the best man and followed by Greg in traditional scottish highland dress. Next came the maid of honor and the flower girl.  All was quiet, then we heard the bag pipes start as they piped the bride from the Pink Shell to the beach for the ceremony.  Truly a grand entrance for a beautiful bride.  The pipes may have caught the ear, but all eyes were on Joanne, looking absolutely stunning in a figure hugging couture wedding gown.  Dr Dan started the ceremony and just as he was about to announce them man and wife he called the parents forward to witness the scottish tradition of "Tying of the Knot" at a wedding.  With a long piece of the McWilliams family tartan he wound it around their joined hands and explained the significance of the tradition and the importance of the family in the joining of this couple.  Finally the words 'you may Kiss the bride' and 'you are now man and wife' . Joanne and Greg strode down the aisle to hug kiss and be kissed by their family.  some family photographs at the alter and then back to the Pink Shell for a wedding feast!  But just before we left there was time for this great couple to spend a few minutes alone at sunset and we were lucky enough for them to allow us to photograph the love between them.  No trashing the dress for this couple though as even though Joanne knows she will not be wearing this dress again, Greg will certainly need his kilt before long!  What a wonderful, unique wedding, thank you for allowing Nautilus Photography be a part of it and best wishes for your future together!

Missy & Duke's perfect Bali-Hi, Captiva wedding

Missy and Duke both love the ocean and their dream wedding was the beach in the sun with their large family all around them.  Living in Ohio, they knew they would have to travel as this is not an opyion in October in Ohio.  So they searched the internet and found an exotic location with a house big enought for all the family to stay in, beside the ocean -Bali Hi Estate on Captiva - perfect!!  Everyone travelled down from Ohio over the weekend and helped to turn this great beach house into a fantasy wedding destination.  Missy's cousin, a florist in Ohio arranged to get the flowers locally and so she was in charge of flowers, they hired Chef Bill's Catering for canapes and a great buffet meal, Missy Ordiway as the officient and Nautilus Photography to capture their special day.  Everything was coming together, just a cake, some cupcakes a dj and a photobooth to complete the line up for a great wedding.  The sun came up yesterday morning and everyone pitched in making sure the chairs and the arch we set up on the beach and some last minute sand raking, theceremony site was ready.  The tables were laid and decorated, then it was time to get ready.  Missy had managed to hide her dress and veil from Duke, he went to get ready downstairs while the girls and MIssy got ready upstairs o make sure he wouldn't see her until the time was right.  Missy Ordiway signalled the guests it was time to head to the beach, then she walked down followed by Duke, the best man and the grooms men.  After a brief pause the bridesmaids came into sight and all eyes were turned towards the path from the house waiting for the first glimpse of the bride.  Missey came into sight smiling brightly on her brother's arm.  Duke just smiled and watched as she approached, when they held hands it was electric, these two are soul mates! Missy read the ceremony and as she explained the love letter ceremony we knew it would be at least five years before these letters would be opened, then it was time for the guests to take the shells from under their seats and throw them into the ocean with good wishes.  Duke and Missy then went down to the water and threw their shells as far as they could.  As they came back up to the arch they looked at each other smiled and laughed as if they were the only people on the beach, in a world of their own.  Just a few minutes later they were pronounce man and wife and introduced as Mr & Mrs Wintrow.  They skipped down the aisle forllowed by the bridal party, their family and friends.  A large group photograph, various family group photos and then at last alone on the beach with the sun just starting to set.  Timing was perfect.  As they walked, talked, hugged and kissed we photographed this fun, oving couple enjoying being man and wife.  The time to join the party.  Phil Amandro Professional DJ had set up with the music playing people were dancing, Dick Parish  had set up the photobooth and the guests were having a great time, but stopped to applaud as te bride and groom reached the party.  After a great meal, there was dancing, swimming, speeches, visits to the photobooth and of course the cake cutting.  The just before it was time to leave Missy threw he bouquet, Duke removed MIsssy's garter and tossed the garter.  A fun end to this fun filled love filled perfect wedding day.  Congratulations from Nautilus Photography have a long and happy marriage!

Madison and Chris' Vintage weddding at The Hyatt Regency, Coconut Point, Bonita Springs

Madison Martin bears more than a striking resembllance to Maralyn Monroe, she also shares her initials, MM!  When Chris asked Madison to marry him they decided to set a vintage theme to their wedding and go back to the time of Maralyn Monroe, Madison's look alike.  Michelle and Sheryl at Pink Tangerine wasted no time building her theme, designing the decor for their ceremony on the pool deck at the Hyatt Regency, Coconut Point, Bonita Springs, Florida.   They also had some fun decoration Braxtons Restaurant at Raptor Bay Golf Club, where they would be having their reception.  J Roberts provided great background music with Steel drums, songs by him and his wife before during the ceremony and afterwards at the reception.  While everyone was running around setting up the chairs, snow cone and popcorn station and arranging the flowers, Madison was quietly and calmly getting ready for the biggest day of her life.  A couple of floors below Chris was totally organized, he was dressed and had Archer, his ring bearer ready for his moms wedding to Chris.  The guests took their seats and Missy Ordiway led the way down the long walkway from The hotel to the pool deck with the spectacular water fall behind her, followed by Chris, Jason, the best man and Archer escorted by , Chris' sister brought up the rear.   We didn't have to wait long before we could see Madison, escorted by her mother, walking towards us.  With the wind blowing her dress and veil she looked fantastic.  Chris could do nothing but grin, she looked incredible.  His eyes were transfixed he just stared at her as her moter gave her to him and they just looked ito each others eyes and smiled as they waited for the music to end.  Missey performed a custom ceremony for them with a really nice jewel ceremony, perfect for the glitzy feel to this special day.  Mr & Mrs Martin walked down the aisle elated and happy to be married.  After family photographs the guests headed for the coctail hour and Madison and Chris could be alone for some romantic photographs with Nautilus Photography.  The it was time for them to go to their room and change as we went ahead of them to the coctail hour and got ready with their guests for them to arrive in their vintage White Rolls Royce.  While we were waiting all the guests collected bubbles to greet them when they arrived.   The car arrived and they stepped out, Chris in a blue suit and Madison in a vintage gown, fit for Maralyn herself, they ran the gaunlet of bubbles and round to the back Braxtons.  Everyone went through to the patio where Mr & Mrs Martin were officially announced and they came in and did their First Dance.  Then into dinner and more music.  Speeches, a photo booth for entertainment and lots of time to mingle and chat before it was time to cut the amazing red velvet cake.  What a wonderful wedding.  Congratulation and a big thenk you for having Paul and Hazel from Nautilus Photography photograph this very special day.

Vincent and Pam's fun filled Wedding on the beach at The Pink Shell on Ft Myers Beach, Fl

When Vincent asked Pam to marry him and Pam said yes, they decided to get married in October.  However, even the start of October in Clarence, NY, can be pretty chilly so they decided it would be fun if all the family could come to Ft Myers and celebrate their wedding in sunshine!  Of course everyone else thought that was a great idea, so they booked the Pink Shell for location and reception, Rev Dan to perform the ceremony, Bob the DJ and Nautilus Photography to capture all the romance, fun and details of their wedding.  They had a very casual wedding as they wanted everyone to feel relaxed and enjoy the day.  It was perfect!  From the arch on the beach with the chairs arranged in a semi circle, to the suckling pig buffet reception.  Vincent wore shorts and a casual shirt with Shells in place of the traditional Boutinier, Pam wore a cream shiffon dress with a wide brimmed hat, with one flower girl and one ring bearer the wedding party was complete.  Despite the forecast for late afternoon rain the sun shone and the weather was ideal.  We had a wonderful time and as the sun set we got some very romantic photographs of this loving and fun couple on this very special wedding day.  Congratulations from Nautilus Photography, see you next year for your anniversary having dinner at the little table on the beach.

Rigo and Laura live in the small town of Ocoee, Florida.  But Laura had always dreamed of a beach wedding at Sunset.  Having found her prince, she set about planning her dream wedding.  She searched the internet and found the perfect location, great sunsets, great accomodation and a fantastic beach all within easy reach, Ft Myers, Florida.  She spoke with Laura the officiant from Ocean Wave Weddings and arranged her date and chose a beautiful Bamboo Arch for the ceremony and then asked Nautilus Photography to come and photograph her dream wedding.  Family and friends travelled with them to FT Myers with everything they needed for a great wedding.  Rigo wore a white shirt and dress pants as he waited, nervously, at the arch with the officiant for his bride Laura.   Then she came across the sand in a fitted long white lace wedding dress with a bouquet of roses and everyone watched as she approached thinking how beacutiful she looked.  Rigo gasped as he stared at her, the whole way across the sand and as she walked up the aisle, only when he had taken her hand and the officiant started to speak did he take his eyes off her, just for a moment.  No words were needed to see how much these two were in love.  The ceremony was beautiful and as this was a Spanish/American union they had a transalor there to make sure all their guests could undersatnd every part of the ceremony.  Laura read a letter to Rigo in Spanish telling him of her love and her desire to be the best wife he could wish for, they exchanged rings and kissed anad then at that monent they became husband and wife!  Everyon was so happy and applauded as they walked dwn the ailse.  The sun was setting fast, so no time to waste, photographs with family and friends and then off to dinner with the guests and time for Mr & Mrs Martinez to have some time alone and get the photographs Laura had dreamwed of when she was planning their wedding.  Just the two of them, the sunset and their love, all the perfect ingredients for photographs to show generations to come and with Nautilus Photography taking them, they could relax and enjoy their time together, knowing they would be the best!  All too soon the sun set and it wwas time for them to join their family and friends for dinner and time for us to go home.  Thank you for choosing Nautilus Photography for being a part of your dream wedding.

Mike and Michelle's secret Ft Myers Beach, Fl

Mike and Michele met, like many other couples online through PlentyofFish.com, but when they met on line little did they know they just lived a few miles from each other.  They both lived on the edge of Little Rock, Arkansas, but on opposite sides, they chatted for a while and then agreed to meet for lunch.  Michele was wary of who she would meet, but he moment she saw Mike tall and handsome wearing a black cowboy hat,  that was it, her heart jumped and she was instantly swept of her feet.  For Mike it was like finding the friend he had been looking for for a long time.  They lunched and talked and it was as if they had known each other for ever, they agreed to met again in three days.  Those three days seemed to take for ever and when they met again they knew they would never be apart again.  That was almost  a year ago, so when Mike asked Michele to be his wife they didn't want to wait any longer.  Some might say it was a whirlwind romance.  But when they booked to come to Ft Myers Beach to get married little did they know they had picked the evening before a hurricane was due to roll into town.   They started to organize their wedding and as they tried to find a date that worked for everyone else, time was slipping away and they wanted to be married, so they decided it was their wedding and the only people who needed to be there was them.  Staying at the Pink Shell and with Laura Walker as their officiant their wedding was almost complete, and with Nautilus Photography to record this perfect union everything was set!  So just before sunset we met on Ft Myers Beach, Michele looking  radiant in a white lace dress and Mike tall and handsome in blue jeans, a white cowboy hat and brown cowboy boots.  Laura performed a beautiful ceremony after which Mike produced a bottle of bubbly to celebrate and then the moment they have both been dreaming of since they first had lunch all that time ago in Little Rock, being able to look at each other as man and wife!  Mr and Mrs Forbush at last!  Then right on cue the sun began to set, not just any old sunset, for those who live in SWFl we know hat the sunsets close to a hurricane are the prettiest on earth, and this was an exceptional sunset. We had a wonderful time with this passionate couple as we photographed them until the sun went down and then we said goodnight as they walked hand in hand back to the Pink Shell to call their family and friends to tell them he good news.  I am sure there will be a great reception in Arkansas with family and friends wanting to wish them all the best for the future. Thank you or choosing Paul and Hazel from Nautilus Photography to record this most important evening in your lives together.

Donna & Chris's Fabulous Beach Wedding

Christopher and Donna came all the way from New Jersey to be married on Ft Myers Beach.  They wanted to keep it a small intimate affair and so had kept it a secret from most of their family and friends.  Laura Walker, their officiant, had worked with them quietly to give them their perfect wedding.  Just before sunset they picked a spot on the beach with the sun setting over the gulf of Mexico behind Laura.  Christopher and Laura walked to the spot for the ceremony, a few last minute adjustments to dress and veil and Donna was ready.  She started walking slowly towards Christopher and as he smiled at her her pace quickened.  They held hands and gazed into each others eyes as Laura read the ceremony and they they answered as she paused, then she said you are now man and wife.  They looked at her and almost before the words 'you may now kiss the bride' they were in each others arms.  Everyone who knows them will not be surprised when they find out that they have tied the knot, they are so in love it is plain to everyone to see.  But just to make sure anyone thought it didn't happen we have plenty of romantic wedding pictures to prove it.  We really enjoyed photographing this wedding and so glad they asked Nautilus Photography to photograph their wedding.  Tomorrow they are off to Key West for a short Honeymoon before returning to Jersey for a great reception with their friends and family.

Jim & Michele's Country Barn Wedding

Jim and Michele couldn't have picked a better place to have a wedding in Pennsylvania.  West Overton Village near Scottdale is like a step back in time.  Currently being renovated with a whisky museum there is a great big barn for your wedding and/or reception.  The weather had been hot all week, but on Sunday it rained, but not to be detered Jim & Michele moved their ceremony inside and it was even nicer than the spot they had chosen outside.  Michele and the bridesmaids got ready in the small barn, Lisa from Kiss and Makeup made sure the girls looked absolutely beautiful for the wedding and the photographs.  Michele had chosen a simple, but elegant traditional wedding gown and her brides maids, her daughter and Jim's daughter, wore deep pink.  Miss Martha's Floral designed the fowers, with white shasta daises, Michele's favorites, and deep pink gerber daises to match the girls dresses, they had added a few wild flowers to make summer bouquets and table arrangeents to match.  Tim Carson, ex mayor of Scottdale performed a beautiful ceremony and Jim and Michele had added an old Indian tradition of releasing butterflies during the ceremony for good luck.  The butterflies flew all around the barn before flying out throuh the big open doors.  Family and friends were excited to congratulate this perfect couple, Mr and Mrs  Bertoline.  Time for photographs with family and friends and then time for this couple to be alone.  For the first time since they became man and wife  we followed the newly weds as they walked, talked and kissed all the time almost oblivious to us photographing them.  We felt guilty when we reminded them it was time to join their wedding guests for the reception in the big barn.  Carsons Catering had prepared and served a great feast.  Special mention should go to the chocolate fountain with mounds of home made cookies.  Cake cutting and first dances followed dinner and then the party really got going with music and dancing late into the evening.  This is just a sneak preview of the great wedding day and the details that made Jim and Michele's wedding so special.  By now Jim will know the secret honeymoon destination Michele had planned for them.  Thank you so much for choosing Nautilus Photography to photograph your fabulous wedding and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Monique and Aldwin's Fabulous sunset wedding on Captiva, Florida

Monique and Aldwin wanted their wedding to be unique, so they rented Otter Banks House on Captiva, hired Sarasota Catering Company, steel drums, a DJ and of course Nautilus Photography.  So far it was a lot to put together, but then the started to personalize things, the asked Honorable Judge Sharon Gianelli to perform the ceremony and Pastor Marie Jackson to read for them.   When we arrived Aldwin was busy working on a secret project and Monique was getting her hair and makeup done by 'her girls'.  Libby's Flowers were doing the table centerpieces and decorating the arch with blue organza and flowers.  Things were busy and Moniques was singing, or should I say practising her song.  Then it was time for the Groom and his men to get ready, the bridesmaids finished Moniques hair and the 'girls' got dressed.  We thought the Groom and grooms men looked good until we saw Monique, looking absolutely gorgeous in a New York Bridal Gown, sparkly shoes and a descrete tiara.  Matron of honor, maid of honour and bridesmaid all in blue.  The flowers were beautiful all summer colors with lots of orchids.  Monique's mom and the girls all had orchids in their hair.  No exspense had been spared this wes all set to be a great wedding.  The guests were seated and the judge, pastor and Aldwi all took their place at the alter, followed by the girls escorted by the bestman and groomsmen.  The Monique came out on the balcony and sang a lovesong for Aldwin.  She came down the steps and was walked up the aisle by her Uncle.  After a beautiful ceremony it was off to the beach for some sunset photographs and back to the house for a champagne reception, toasts and great dinner.  But before dinner there was a show.  Monique and the bridesmaids had a special dance routine to I've been looking for a man like you.  The boys had a routine of their own, this is where we found out wjat that secret project was all about, followed by Monique and Aldwin's first dance together as Mr & Mrs Martinez.  After dinner as the light was fading we went over to the pool area for The love letter ceremony"  which ws beautiful.  Monique and Aldwin had thought of everything, they even had little tealights in colored paper bags floating in the pool to give a romantic light for this very romantic ceremony.  Then a surprise for guests - Sparklers.  The guests lighted the pathway to the house with sparler's as the couple ran to the house where  the Dj was ready with music for Aldwin to dance with Monique's mom, Mae and Monique to dance with her oldest male friend Eden Shaw.   Then it was time to cut the Cake.  Kakes by Karen had outdone themselves, not only with a great Floridian wedding cake, but one of the cutest groom's cakes we have ever seen.   The Dj was ready with music for Aldwin to dance with Monique's mom, Mae and Monique to dance with her oldest male friend Eden Shaw.   Monique then asked the rest of the guests to join them on the dance floor, this party was only getting started.   But before long the DJ remnded us there wre still a couple of fomalities to be taken care of The bouquet and garter toss!  How could we have forgotten that?  Aldwin did a great job of taking off Monique's garter with his teeth.  Single ladies on the floor and Monique threw her bouquet, then the single guys turn to catch the garter, glad to saythe right guy caught the garter and put it on his young ladiy's leg, who ha co-incidentaly caught the bouquet.  Then more dancing and to keep the action reving up there were prizes awarded by Monique and Aldwin for style.  This was certainly a great wedding and a fantastic party.  We left them to party late into the night.  This is just a hint of the day and we look forward to talking with Mr & Mrs Martinez and showing them their pictues after their honeymoon.

Matthew and Elizabeth's Kings Crown Lawn wedding at South Seas Resort, Captiva

Matthew and Elizabeth couldn't have asked for a better day to be married at the Kings Crown Lawn at South Seas resort, Captiva.  In a gorgeous gown by Davids Bridal carrying flowers by Floral Artistry of Sanibel, Elizabeth had not missed one thing when she was planning this wedding.  Something old - her great grandmother's engagement ring, something new - her dress and a sparkling neclace, something borrowed a greek key bracelet from her mother and somthing blue?  it could have been the blue stones set in the bracelet or the handmade blue garter hidden beneath her dress.  She had pictures of her dad and her three grandfathers who have passed.    The sun was shinning with just enough cloud to keep everyone from squinting and a light breeze coming off the water to keep everyone comforable.  Elizabeth's mom walked her down the aisle and Matthew just stared at how beautiful she looked.  They had chosen a very nice ceremony performed by Louis Fristensky.  Then it was time for family pictures, first the three grandmothers, two from Georgia and one all the way from Massachusetts, moms, dads, bridal party and then time for Elizaberth and Mathew to be alone.  These two are so much in love we wondered did they even notice us photographing as they talked, kissed, giggled and hugged each other.  We almost felt guilty when we said 'time to join the rest of the guests'.  Everyone else by now was seated at the Harborside Inn refreshed and ready for a fabulous meal, followed by a piece of Almond and Raspberry Wedding cake made by Masons Bakery.  A sweet end to a very sweet day, and the start of a long and happy life together.  Congratulations Mr & Mrs Higgins, we look forward to seeing you and your family growing in the years to come!

Kelley and Jim's wonderful wedding at The Holiday Inn on Ft Myers Beach, SWFL

When Kelley and Jim decided to get married on Ft Myers Beach on July 21, they knew there was a chance it may rain.  But this was their date and they are so much in love they knew that no matter what the weather this would be the day they would marry.  They booked the Holiday Inn at Ft Myers beach, the perfect setting for a beach wedding and they knew that Leslie, the banquet manager  would have a back up plan.  Patricia Slater performed a moving ceremony and left no one in any doubt about the love between this great couple.  They exchanged vows they had written, performed the sand ceremony uniting not just the two of them but their son Cannon and Jim's daughter Mia.  Then time to seal it with a kiss, Mr & Mrs Block - forever! Their family and friends clapped and cheered to see them finally united.  Time for photographs with Nautilus Photography and as we photographed the traditional family groups with parents, friends, their children and their bridal party we could see the love for each other and the family and friends who were here to witness their union and celebrate with them.  But at last it was time for them to have some alone time before their geat meal, catered by Pinchers Crab Shack at the Holiday Inn,  and the eventing dancing and celebrations.  Together at last, they had so much to say to each other, whispering, gigling and kissing, we got some of the most romantic pictures evre taken.  This is just a small sample of the wonderful pictures they will have to cherish this very special day for the rest of their lives together.  Join us in wishing them a lifetime of happiness together by leaving a comment below the pictures.

Kalyn and Ryan's fabulous wedding at The Hilton, Naples, Florida.

When we arrived at the Hilton Hotel we went to 'the brides' room.  It was a flurry of activity.  Kalyn's mom, cousin, sister in  law and sorority sisters were all getting ready and helping Kalyn with her hair and make up.  But she was so calm, and beautiful.  In no time at all her hair was done and it was time to put on her dress, mom helped while her friends watched.  She pinned her grandmother's cross into her dress by her heart for courage, just from no wheere a few tears from mom and Kalyn.  But quickly they agreed they couldn't cry yet, maybe later. one last kiss and then it was time for her to join her dad.   Meanwhile Ryan, his family, best man and her man of honor were lining up with Russ Winn, officiant, ready to make that walk down the aisle.  All the guests were seated and Ryan was ready, all he had wanted to do from he had met Kalyn was marry her.  Now the time was here he was ready.  So first Russ then Best man, Man of Honor, then Kalyn's mom and Grand mother followed by Ryan and his mom.  The doors closed and as everyone looked at the doors they knew the next time they opened Kalyn and her dad would be there.Sure enough the doors opened and Kalyn stood there with her dad.  The whole room gasped she was so beautiful, her dad was so proud, I'm sure there was just a little tear from her mom, Ryan just stared and smiled, this has to have been one of the best moments in his life.  After a beautiful ceremony incorporating the sand ceremony it was time to go outside for some family photographs and theen finally they had some time on their own.  We wewre there, but they didn't even notice us.  These two were in a fairytale world of heir own.  But before long dad came out to remind them it was time to join their guests for dinner.  Just before they went into dinner Electa brought Kalyn, Ryan and their family into the ballroom for a first look.  It was spectacular with floral arrangements by Flower Spot, purple uplighters strategically placed around the room by Jimfrom a DJ with class and in the corner on a stage a spectacular wedding cake from the Hilton Hotel.  It was beautiful, they were redy to have theri family and friends join them for a great meal, some great music to dance to and a champagne toast.  Just before the cake was cut, Kalyn and her brother, Corey, suprised their mom and dad with a little cake for their 40th wedding anniversary which they were celebrating on their daughter's wedding day.  After cutting the cake, white cake filled with strawberry mousse, it was time for Kalyn and her dad to dance.  The room was silent as they danced together and you could see the love between daughter and dad followed by Ryan and his mom.  Then time for the party to get going and Jim kept the music playing with a good mix of party songs and romantic moments.  After a great wedding Ryan and Kalyn, Mr & Mrs Dovey, are heading off to Disney for a fairytale honeymoon.  We are so looking forward to showing you all the pictures when you get back.  Thanks for having Nautilus Photography be part of your Wedding day.

Becca & Bradens Stormy Sanibel Beach wedding

Becca and Braden had planned the most beautiful wedding at Casa Ybel on Sanibel in Florida.  They had invited all their family and friends and worked with Patricia Slater, their wedding planner, to have a fantastic beach wedding just before sunset.  The one thing no one had expected was that Tropical storm Debby would decide to come along!  But they quickly rearranged everything and moved the ceremony indoors and once Debby realised that she could not stop this couple getting together she eased back and we were able to take photographs outside, before and after the ceremony.  The brides father performed a short heartfelt ceremony with their family and friends around them.   Everyone had a great time at the wedding and we are so glad you chose Nautilus Photography for your special day.

Erin & Mark's 'Lucky" Fort Myers Beach Wedding

Here in Florida I have heard it said many times that rain on your wedding day is lucky.  In that caase Erin and Mark are one of the luckiest couples we know!  All day it rained, but they were determined nothing would spoil their weding day.  The Best Western Hotel gave them the tiki hut to keep them dry, Terry Benton the officiant set up her table for the sand ceremony and we brought some umbrellas.  Erin looked radiant, with her red hair styled perfectly and a flowing white gown. She was walked down the aisle by her mom and dad to an awe struck Mark, casually dressed and ready to be married.  After a short sweet ceremony the rain eased off enought for us to get some great photographs with this fun couple and then back to Mark's uncle Bill's home on the beach for a chamgagne reception, a great meal and a fabulous cake from Publix.  We had a great time and despite the rain the love between these two shone through and with their family around them it was a fantastic wedding.  Thank you for choosing Nautilus Photography for your wedding day.  We wouldn't have missed it for the world!

Phyllis & Richard's Tropical Island Wedding on North Captiva.

North Captiva has some of the most beautiful private beaches in Lee County.  Phyllis and Richard fell in love with each other and Captiva many years ago, so when it came to getting married North Captiva was the obvious choice. Of couse with the bride, groom and wedding guests mostly coming from England for the wedding there was lots to arrange.  Patricia Slater was the officiant and helped Phyllis organize the details for the beach ceremony and reception at the North Captiva Club on the Island.  Phyllis and her 'girls' went out on an early boat to ensure Richard would not get even a glimpse of her before the ceremony.  The Groom, guests, Pat and Nautilus Photography went out on the water taxi from Pine Island.  No time to lose, girls were getting ready, the beach was already set up and the sun was shining.  Richard was getting nervous, but Sam his son and best man kept him grounded.  Three O'clock on the dot the guests too their seats, Richard and Sam walked down the aisle and waited.  The flower girls sprinkled their rose petals, the bridesmaid walked down the aisle and then the moment everyone was waiting for Phyllis on her stepdad's arm.  She was beautiful and Richard could hardly contain an enormous smile.  After a beautiful ceremony there was a champagne toast and then some group photogrraphs before the guest retired to the cocktail hour leaving the couple to have a few romantic moments on the beach.  Then back to join their guests for a great meal, some very short speeches, and some pool time for guests and wedding party.  The afternoon passed all to quickly and as the sun started to set and the guests readied themselves for the boat trip back to Pine Island and reality, we whisked Phyllis and Richard, Mr & Mrs Astley, back to the beach for some very romantic photographs as the sun set.  We had a great time and then it was time for the boat to leave this great couple to their honeymoon on their private island paradise.

Will and Lauren's fairytale wedding

When we arrived at Lauren's home it was a flurry of activity.  The girls were getting their hair and make up done, Linda, lauren's mom was making sure everyone have eaten, her dad was making sure everything they needed to bring was in the car and the cats were totally confused!  Laurnes dress from Loretta's Bridal was hanging from the chandelier above the dining table and was spectacular.   Before long it was time! Time for everyong to get dressed, time for the Limos to arrive, dad went out to put the purses in the bridesmaids limo and while he was out of the room Lauten stepped into her dress.  No one noticed him come back in throught the door until he gasped WOW! and at that time stoppped just for a few seconds as he looked at her and she looked at him.  Then with a flourish the bridesmaids were on their way to the church, Linda tucked the last few items into her car, Lauren and her dad arm in arm walked to their limo.  Meanwhile at the church, guests were arriving, the groomsmen were ushering them to their seats and Will had been secreted to that he would not catch a glimpse of Laren and her dad arrive.

So with everyone in place it was time for the wedding to start.  Parent we sat, Will walked down the Isle with Pastor Gary followed by the bridesmaides and groomsmen.  Then with just a slight pause Lauren and her dad came into view at the back of the church and Will looked at Lauren and his eyes said 'WOW'!  She glided up the isle in her fairytale gown, carring a large bouquet of white roses atudded with a few diamonds, to the flower decorated alter.

After a short, but sweet service and some family photographs it was off to the Colonial Country Club where Michael and Rob had evrything in hand for a great reception.  The guests went into the cocktail hour and after a few photoraphs woth the bridal party Will and Lauren were finally alone.  They were so happy to be together and Will finally got to tell Laurn how beautiful she had looked in the church.  But before long it was lime to go in and greet their guests. Michael from Black Tie Entertainment was a great MC and DJ keepting the party going with music to dance to and letting veryone know when it was time for Cake cutting, Bouquet tossing and garter.

The evening passed so quickly, but before they left Lauren's mom had arranged for a very special send off and like every other part of this wedding it was spectacular and FUN!  Thanks for having Nautilus Photography at your wedding, we had a blast.  Enjoy your honeymoon see you soon!

Monique and Aldwin are busy putting finishing touches to the preparation for their wedding on Captiva in July, but found time to fly down from New York for an engagement session with Nautilus Photography.  This is just a few highlights from a great session, including their own recreation of that famous kiss between Burt Lancaster and Deborah Kerr.  We may not have the crashing waves, but they certainly have the passion!  Safe home guys , looking forward to your wedding in July!

Chad and James Dream Wedding in Ft Myers, Florida

Chad has been waiting patiently for James to return from Afganistan for them to be married.  Finally the day was here!  James and the grromsmen got ready at his mother's house and Chad and the girls got ready at the Homestead Inn at Bell Towers. They had arranged for a party bus to take the boys and his family to St Francis Xavier Catholic Church, then go to pick up the girls and bring them back to the church.  No seeing each other before this wedding!  The first time they saw each other was in the church, with all their friends and family around them.  James brother was his best man and Chad's sister was her maid of honor.  Chad glided up the isle looking like a model in her fairytale gown with just a small head dress to show her beautiful hair, by Randi-jo.  Father Jim performed a lively ceremony with lots of useful advice and best wishes.  Then after family photographs at the alter it was time to get back on the party bus and head to the Plantation Country club for the reception.  The party was really getting started, and what a party, fabulous food, beautiful flowers, roses everywhere, and music to keep everyone dancing!  Of course we should note that when the groom tossed the garter and the bride tossed the bouquet the couple who caught them turned out to be getting married next February.  Who says it's just an old wives tale!  Then came the cake cutting!  An exceptional cake for an exceptional couple, Mason's Bakery had outdone themselves on this one!  and before you ask - it was a messy one, but the sweetest kiss afterwards left no one in any doubt this is a marriage that was meant to be and will last FOREVER!  Congratulations Chad and James, thank you for having Nautilus photograph your dream wedding.

Robert & Vanessa's sunset beach wedding at South Seas Resort on Sanibel

Robert and Vanessa couldn't have picked a better location than South Seas Island Resort on Captiva to have their wedding.  All the way from Canada for their destination wedding.  Vanessa was given away by her brother, the flowergirl and ringbearer were their children,  this really was a family occasion.  Vanessa was beautiful in her traditional wedding gown and Robert looked so handsome in his specially bought suit, the trolley bus added to the fun of the day.  Sunset Cove lived up to it's name with a super sunset for photographs on the rocks.  For this couple who love nature, nature certainly came up trumps for their wedding.  Safe journey home Mr & Mrs Vendetti hope to se you back soon.

Bart and Dawn sunset beach wedding at Tween Waters, Captiva, Florida

Dawn and Bart couldn't have picked a better day to get married at Tween Waters Inn  on Captiva, Florida.  With a light sea breeze, the aquamarine sea and a fantastic sunset the best backdrop anyone could have for a wedding.  The bride was radiant in her pearl colored wedding gown carrying a bouquet of white lillies, roses and shells by Jana Telecka.  After a short but sweet ceremony on the beach they had a champagne toast before group and family photographs on the beach.  Then off to the cocktail hour at the Wakefield room, where they had their first dance and chatted with their friends.  Rob from Black Tie Entertainment was a great DJ, and played songs that everyone wanted to dance to even before dinner.  Then after a fabulous buffet meal Nautilus Photography whisked the happy couple out onto the beach. There we got the most romantic sunset photographs to show generations to come how in love this couple were on their wedding day.  Then as the sun set we went over to the dock where the moon was just rising.  Not just any moon, the largest moon of the year, has to be a sign that their honeymoon here at Tween Waters would be very special.   Then back to join their guests for some serious fun, dancing bouquet and gater toss.  Finishing the evening with cutting their delicious cake and as special treat for their friends they had brought some Key Largo Chocolates with them for party favors.  What a geat day!  We are so privileged to have been a part of it.
