Dr Jason Scott

Professor

Department: Social Work, Education and Community Wellbeing

Jason is a Professor of Applied Health Research and a Chartered Psychologist (CPsychol). His research interests are in applied health and social care research, with expertise in the development, implementation and evaluation of innovations in the organisation and delivery of health and social care. He holds various leadership roles, including being Deputy Director of the IDEAS National Evaluation Team, Academic Lead of the Frequent Caller National Network, Programme Lead for the MSc Healthcare Leadership and Management Programme, and Department Postgraduate Research Co-Lead.

He has received over £7m of funding from prestigous funders including the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), The Dunhill Medical Trust and The Health Foundation. In his research, he utilises a range of qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods, drawing upon and developing theories from the social sciences. He also offers support and guidance to others in his roles asexternal examiner for the MSc Quality and Safety in Healthcare at Leicester University, and deputy chair for the Birmingham, RAND and Cambridge Rapid Evaluation Team's steering group.
