Dr Tomasz Cudejko

Assistant Professor

School: Sport Exercise and Rehabilitation

I completed PhD in Medical Sciences at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where I investigated the effects of an orthotic device on clinical and biomechanical outcomes in people with knee osteoarthritis as part of the EU Horizon 2020 Innovative Training Network. I subsequently undertook postdoctoral research at the University of Liverpool, focusing on the development of “smart” footwear for fall prevention in older adults, and at Cardiff University, where I worked on validating wearable technologies for health monitoring. My research integrates clinical rehabilitation, biomechanics, and digital health technologies. I have authored ten first-author publications, regularly review for international peer-reviewed journals in medicine and bioengineering, and serve on the editorial boards of Scientific Reports (Digital Medicine) and PLOS Digital Health. I am a physiotherapist by training with several years of clinical experience.

Tomasz Cudejko

I am interested in advancing our understanding of conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system and developing technology-based healthcare interventions to address these issues. I employ lab-based experiments, use patients reported outcomes, and analyze large data sets to better understand musculoskeletal conditions and their biomechanical underpinnings, generating insights to inform theory, real-world decision-making, and technology development.
